Frequently Asked Questions

How often to I have to attend?

This will vary on your circumstances and reasons for seeking support. Some people like sessions as frequently as weekly and others much less so. As a rule of thumb we would recommend weekly for the first few weeks so that you can really  experience the benefit of our services and then go from there. Ultimately, the frequency of our work together will always be lead by you.

Where are you based?

We have several addresses in Weston super Mare where we provide our services and we also provide some services out in nature. There are also many of our  clients that prefer for us to travel to them and work in their own homes. To summarise, we work where you feel most at ease (though this may be subject to confidentiality constraints.) 

What if I cant afford it?

We appreciate that everyone's circumstances are different and  our session  fees can be discussed at our initial assessment.  If you are on low income please let us know so that we can discuss how we might be able to offer you a service that is affordable. . 

Are there different types of counselling?

 There are different models of counselling such as CBT, Psychodynamic and  Humanistic (also called Person Centred) . We employ aspects of all of these models within our work to utilise an integrative approach.  

What can I expect at my first session?

We understand that the initial session might seem a bit nerve-wracking. We are an extremely warm and friendly team who will work tirelessly to put you at ease. Every initial session is completely free with no obligations. This is to provide you with a neutral environment to see if our way of working is a good fit for you. During this session we will ask some questions to explore how we might best meet your needs and we welcome any questions you might have of us or the therapeutic  process.
